Each of these handcrafted scrap metal animal sculptures is made by me, Josh Price, in small-town USA. Every piece is created using materials I personally source from yard sales, scrap yards, junkyards, flea markets, metal recyclers, and even the occasional donation from generous patrons or fans. Because I use found materials in their original state, some sculptures may retain dirt, grease, or surface imperfections—what I like to call the story of the scrap. From the bed of my truck, to the sorting bin, to the welding table, the process is raw, honest, and entirely hands-on.
Due to the nature of my materials and methods, every sculpture is truly one of a kind. While I may create multiple pieces of a similar animal, no two are ever exactly alike.
These sculptures are versatile and make a bold statement in any indoor or outdoor setting. Please note: I do not apply any paint, sealant, or protective coating, allowing the sculpture to age naturally and develop its own unique patina over time.
If displayed outdoors, the sculpture will continue to rust and evolve—but don’t worry, it’s built to last. If you prefer to preserve its current appearance, I recommend sealing it with a clear coat spray such as Rust-Oleum or Krylon, or applying a rust inhibitor like Penetrol. This not only helps prevent corrosion but also enhances the sculpture’s natural beauty. Depending on your environment, reapplication may be needed once or twice a year.
